
This is odd.
David Beckham is speaking out about how he believes soccer leagues are over-paying young athletes.
Uh huh!
According to Beckham, he believes it's stupid to reward young players with huge paychecks before they've even made it big.
Beckham claims that the large money deals will eventually ruin the game since the younger players will no longer have a need to succeed.
David says, "It used to be that when you got into the first team then the rewards would come, whereas young kids these days are earning so much money at such a young age. You want that hunger there, you want the hunger to be rewarded. Unfortunately, that's not the case these days. They can all afford to buy their own cars. That's the bad part - to have that at such a young age."
Actually, that kind of makes sense.
If they've already made their millions, why work hard?
Well, it's not all about money. Is it???
