15 Students Suspended For…Plucking Their Eyebrows?

Because you might be a straight dude who plucks his unibrow, you might be gay, according to a high school principal at a school in Matamoros, Mexico.

15 male students were suspended for plucking their eyebrows because trying to look nice is "unique to women or youth with a homosexual tendency."

Really?

So straight guys are just supposed to be ugly?

The action has garnered the outraged attention of several groups, including the Tamaulipan Youth Institute (Itjuve). Their director, Efraín Hernández, said, "No one can be denied the right to enter an institution simply because they look different to the rest of the alumni or because they decided to make a change in their person. We clearly see a discrimination that is worrisome since it is a center that shapes individuals which is not in the best of hands."

The State Association of Family Parents also sides with the Itjuve, and plans on submitting complaints to the State Commission of Human Rights.

Aren't there better things to be doing in school?

Like - oh we don't know - teaching tolerance?
