Pulitzer-winner Sam Shepard arrested for drunken driving

Sam Shepard, U.S. actor and playwright, was arrested in early Saturday in central Illinois and charged with speeding and drunken driving, local police said as quoted by media reports Sunday.

Shepard, 65, told police in Normal, Illinois, he was passing through town and stopped at a tavern before heading to his hotel on his way to his home in Kentucky.
